Shall we modify the Voting System?

Hey fraggers, i have a idea to modify the Voting System a bit, this goes further more to Yellow who created that system for us but ofc you guys can tell your opinions too.

So the Voting System appears currently like this in the console:

Its seperated in 2 sections "classic maps" and "fun maps".
the section "fun maps" includes also the mods with lg and rocket only.

Thats already pretty good but i had this idea of adding a third section called "Mods"

The "Mods" section could now contain the "lg and rocket only" config, but whats more cool,
we can add now "Capture the flag" and maybe "gauntlet only freeze/Tdm" too. I know view asked for that also


So the Voting System could look like this:

Here maybe a third line for Rocket only and gauntlet only??

This would be pretty cool and pretty much flexible for all needs
It would require now a third Maplist for "Capture the flag" and a fourth for "Gauntlet only", as not all maps make sense to CTF and Gauntlet only.

What you guys think and hope it would´nt be much of work for Y, im not that sexy beast at Scripts as Yellow..

looks good. but actually we don't need separate maplists for each mod. We only need maplists for separate sections (classic,fun,mods). All the rest can be done by cfg and an extension to the mapname as it is now.

for an example

q3dm6-lmo
6++-rgo
q3dm7-rlo

Script is loading different config when it sees specific extension. No extension means classic freezetag.
Now we could add "-ctf" extension. or -glo (gauntlet only)

The only issue i have is that i am not sure if we can switch from freezetag to CTF without reloading the whole server. But maybe i am wrong. need to check it.

Agree with the improvement Flak, less fun maps option and adding mods instead to the voting system.
Personaly i would force a permanent CTF mod btw some 5 or 7 maps for relaxation, for instance, use some very smaller CTF maps with pummel or grenade weapon only for taking the flag from the opponent. This, because, if you had noticed, most of the time (like 99,999 per cent...) maps played are classical, not fun, so i would like to see the CTF mod forced into voting system cause would refresh the playing style a lot. Further more i would see the logs for most played maps and make a solid option map list with it and deleting the current fun map list option; that would result in a more satisfaction choice list.

From what i recall, i needed to reboot my server everytime e toogle between mods, so yes, that is a major issue.

Yeah i now see the prob but it wont even work if freeze will set on with ctf cuz already the fact that quake engine loads the flag and the game is counted on the captured frag requieres the server reboot. Anyway its still cool to make the Voting system that way, its more clear and stuff...And we can still set ctf manualy from time to time then.
